Win $25,000 with Dakota Curling Club Raffle

The details you have been waiting for! The Cash Raffle Drawing happens on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the lakeside home of Lisa Backer and Darren Kermes. It will be held outdoors with pond curling, ice skating, and multiple bonfires (so you can stay warm and spread out). Bring your own skates if you wish.
Time: 3:00 - 4:15pm
Drawing Time: 4pm
Drawing will also be on Facebook Live for those who want to watch remotely.

Address is: 19115 Orchard Trail, Lakeville

Important Update: The MN Gambling Control Board requires that our raffle drawing occur at a public event, which we expected to do during a News Year's Eve party at the club on December 31st.  However, with the current emergency orders keeping the club closed until January 4th, that makes it impossible to hold a public event for the drawing on the originally scheduled date.

We've contacted the licensing board for guidance and they've given us the go ahead to reschedule our drawing date.  The club's Board of Directors has set the new drawing date for Saturday January 30th in the hopes that the pandemic situation will have moderated enough to host an actual curling event in conjunction with the drawing.

The drawing on January 30th will also be live streamed so if you want to watch from home, you can do that as well.  (And before you ask, we did ask the licensing board if we could simply live stream on Dec 31st and the answer was no, live streaming can be offered IN ADDITION to a public event but not in place of one.)

First prize is $25,000, second prize is $10,000, third prize is $5000, and five additional consolation prizes will be drawn at $500 each. Winners will be selected by random draw at the club on December 31st at 6:00 pm and you do not need to be present to win. Please see complete rules here.

Whether you are curling or not curling this season, this is an important opportunity for you to support the club and help ensure that the club survives and even thrives in these uncertain times. Proceeds from this raffle will be used to retire debt remaining from the purchase of our ice making equipment and this will result in a major leap forward in financial stability for the club.

As an extra incentive, we’ll be running a side contest among club members to reward our top ticket sellers with some awesome prizes! The top ticket seller will win a FULL YEAR OF FREE CURLING in 2021- 22 (one league per season). The next three top ticket sellers will each win a gift certificate worth $250 from Dakota Curling Supplies. If you are a club member either this season or last season and you choose to sell tickets, you’ll be automatically entered in this contest.

During the week beginning Sunday October 18th, a member of the capital campaign committee will be present at the club to issue tickets to you in bundles of 10. We encourage every participating member to set a personal goal of selling at least 20 tickets. Please turn in stubs and money collected in the provided envelope at the bar as soon as each bundle of 10 has been sold. You are not under any obligation to sell tickets you take, but unsold tickets must also be returned.
