Jeanine Perera, Treasurer - Jeanine is self-employed and is currently working as a senior accountant. Jeanine learned to curl in her native home city of Winnipeg, Canada. After a move to Savage, Minnesota in 2000 and a 20 year or so hiatus, it was time to get back into curling. She joined Dakota Curling Club in 2018. Anita moved to Minnesota 15 years ago by way of Colorado. She started curling in the Dakota Curling Instructional League in 2018 and fell in love with it. Anita started serving as the Secretary of the club in July 2020. Anita lives in Lakeville with her husband Rob who also likes to curl.

Jon Skyberg, Facilities Chair - Jon and his wife, Jodie, joined the Dakota Curling Club immediately after its dedicated facility was opened in 2016. It started with a Learn-To-Curl class and quickly became a passion that has taken over their lives (in a good way). Jon is a member of 3 weekly leagues and is a member of the Ice Team. Jon joined the board as the facilities chair in 2021.

Jon is mostly retired but does enjoy his part-time job working for Dakota Curling Supplies which takes him to many of the curling venues in Minnesota and Wisconsin. This has been a great way to meet other ice makers and facility managers for idea exchange. Jon’s professional background includes 30 years of corporate IT leadership as well as 5 years of owning his own moving and storage company. Jon is the proud father of 3 wonderful adult children (Rolf - 30, Olivia - 27, and Sophia - 24) When he is not at the curling club, he enjoys woodworking and spending time at their Wisconsin cabin. Alan McHugh, Vice-Chair of the Business Operations Committee - Born and raised in New Prague, Allan has lived in the Apple Valley/Lakeville area for the past 20 years. Professionally, he has worked in law enforcement with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office for 20 years. His duties include jail, courts, and investigations. He enjoys spending time with my wife, cooking, going to breweries, playing with our two rescue dogs Daisy & Stache, going for bike rides, and playing tennis to name a few.

My curling story is just beginning. I married my wife Katie in October of 2021 and she signed us up for Learn To Curl for a fun night out. After the class, we were both hooked and immediately joined the instructional league then into novice. Even with little experience, I felt like a part of the club and was able to volunteer for numerous opportunities and played in two bonspiels. I know I want to be a part of the Dakota Curling Club community for a long time and can offer a different perspective as a newer member. End of current term: June, 2025

Caree Kovacevich - Caree is a Senior Project Manager/Biologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and has served the federal government for 15+ years.

After 20 years away in the south, Caree returned to Minnesota in 2020, now with husband and 2 young boys (Ben, 11 and Jack, 7) to the Lakeville/Apple Valley area.

Caree took a Learn to Curl at Dakota in Fall of 2020, was immediately bit by the curling bug and is now involved in all things curling. Caree volunteers her time at Dakota on the Ice Team and assists with Learn to Curls. Caree has volunteered for national championship events and USA Curling outreach opportunities. Caree also teaches curling at Minikahda Country Club and serves on the Twin Cities Curling Association Board as the Secretary since April 2022.

When not doing something curling-related, Caree’s boys keep her busy and enjoys anything outdoors, especially camping (Cub Scouts) and canoeing, shooting sports, yoga, traveling to the North Shore, and arts & crafts. She also volunteers at an all-girls summer camp that fosters confidence & independence in young women in northern Minnesota every summer.

Heather Guse, Co-Chair, Business Operations Committee, Chair of the Business Operations Committee - Heather is Vice President for Enterprise Resilience globally for UnitedHealth Group. She is responsible for ensuring that organization is prepared for and can continue
to serve our members, customers, and patients when significant events impact people and operations. She leads responses to disasters and cross functional initiatives to increase capabilities and resiliency.

Her professional  experience includes running a technology company, co- founding a non-profit helping women enter the information security industry, and being a K9 handler and the President of an all volunteer Search and Rescue unit.

While she wasn't able to convince her hockey playing husband to try curling, She loves it! She took a learn to curl class in 2018 and has played ever since. She has a unique understanding of the challenges of a volunteer run organization and will contribute to the diversity of capabilities and thought that the members of this club have. She looks forward to continuing to support the club in new ways. End of current term: June, 2024
