Learn To Curl

Interested in learning how to curl? Dakota Curling is a great place to get on the ice for the first time!

Our Two-Hour Learn to Curl Class Includes

  • Classroom instruction covering the basics of the game
  • On-ice instruction to practice throwing rocks, sweeping, and scoring
  • A brief game

Learn to Curl Class cost is $37 per person. All equipment is provided. Must be 13 years or older to attend, and those under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian. Please bring a clean pair of tennis shoes with you as street shoes are not allowed on the ice. All other equipment will be provided. We recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothing and dress in layers.

This two-hour class starts off with a classroom session where we will cover the history, rules, and basics of game play. Then, you'll head out onto the ice to practice the techniques of throwing rocks, sweeping, and scoring. Finally, we'll divide up into teams and play a short game.

Players must be 13 years or older to attend the course, and must be accompanied by an adult if under 18.

Doubles Instruction 

Sign up for free if you want to learn how to play doubles. Scoring is the same as in regular curling but each team throws only 5 rocks per end, rather than 8. Games are fast paced and help develop both strategy and shot-making skills. Doubles teams can be made up of any combination of gender.

L2C Instructor class

If you can curl, you can teach others learn to curl and we need your help. Sign up to help out in one or many Learn to curl classes. It free and you can help us spread the fun of curling.

Youth Learn To Curl

Tailored specifically to curlers under 13, the Youth Learn To Curl class will introduce kids to the basics of the game and include on-ice instruction as well as practice throwing rocks, sweeping, and scoring.

Everyone will get a chance to put their new found skills to the test in a game.

We know this will show you're yong curler how much fun this lifetime sport can be.
